Date: June 2019
This is not like my usual postings. June of 2019 saw the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and I spent a week in Normandy taking in the re-enactments and celebrations. A very sombre and sobering week where everyone joined in the remembrance of all nationalities. Those who fought on both sides were remembered wherever you went. I have posted a few different photos to show a small part of the weeks' events. The main event was the parachuting and Dakotas coming across the Channel where they landed in Caen. There were other events but mostly hampered by poor weather. One event at The Aérodrome De Falaise expected a lot more aircraft from all over Europe but only a few British planes made it.
