Date: June 2018
I was lucky enough to receive a call from my good friend Simon Baker asking if I would like to take some air to air shots of a Dakota ……...what a silly question. I jumped at the chance. A bright sunny day on the 6th of June 2018 in Headcorn and we were boarding a De Havilland D.H. 104 Devon C.1 G-DHDV. The subject was Douglas C-47A Skytrain N473DC. I make no apologies for taking a lot of photos of this magnificent machine and posting a few of them here. Alongside the C-47 were Spitfires NH341 / G-CICK and PV202 / G-CCCA. The photos were a little hazy in the sky and through the old windows of the Devon. On the ground a bonus awaited us in a Tiger Moth G-ANMO, a N.A. T-6G Texan G-DDMV, a N.A. T-6G Havard 4 G-TVIJ and Cessna Caravan G-GOHI. The header is a photo of our friend Roly bearing a huge smile which just summed up the day perfectly.
